The Artois bag is a nod to the Comte d’Artois, Robert 1st d’Artois, brother of King Louis IX, known as “Saint-Louis”. Just as the Comte d’Artois was the younger brother of Saint Louis, so the Artois bag is the “little brother” of the emblematic Saint Louis tote. This is also a reference to the province of Artois, situated in the North of France, which he inherited when he came of age following his father’s death, thus becoming the Comte d’Artois.
ARTOIS BAG MM
The Artois bag is a nod to our emblematic Saint Louis in a structured version with a zip fastening system and overstitched leather corners for good resistance to abrasion. It reinterprets the Saint Louis tote with a number of clever details all of its own: longer ogive-shaped handles for comfortable shoulder wear and a large inner floating pocket so the client can organise their belongings.
One final detail underscores the singularity of the Artois: the handle trim is stitched with red thread, celebrating a Goyard tradition: the same red thread has been used to sew special order trunk handles. Ideal as well for daily use or for work, the Artois also stands out with the free and optional special personalisation, which underlines the art of personalisation by Goyard.
